Craft Pepsi?
Pepsi is looking to launch a line of “craft” fountain sodas in hopes of appealing to people who may shun big soda brands. The line of sodas, which were first reported by the industry tracker Beverage Digest, will include flavors like black cherry with tarragon, orange hibiscus, pineapple cream and agave vanilla cream.
Alchemy and Science, Bitch!
After four years of waiting, Alchemy & Science, a “craft brew incubator” led by Magic Hat founder Alan Newman, is getting its moment in the spotlight. Funded by Boston Beer as a subsidiary of craft’s largest company, Alchemy & Science offers a unique opportunity to launch localized brands using Jim Koch’s money, but not the name of his most famous creation, Sam Adams.

Before they were competing brewery owners, Mike Stevens and Brett VanderKamp were brothers in the Omicron Kappa Epsilon fraternity at Hope College. On Thursday, May 28, Stevens and VanderKamp took the stage together at the Start Garden venture capital firm in downtown Grand Rapids, where the two brewery heads interviewed each other for more than an hour.
